I know it seems like your baby will be a newborn forever, but trust me he will grow faster than you think! As a newborn photographer I highly recommend photographing your baby between 5-14 days old. Did you know that many photographer's do not consider babies older than 14 days old a newborn? There are even some photographers who will not photograph a baby over two weeks old. They request that you wait until the baby is ready for a milestone session. So the question is, why is a baby's age so important to newborn photographers?

Everyone loves newborn photography, I mean what's not to love? There are so many different ways to photograph a baby today. We have tons of precious little props and buckets that they fit so cute into and let's not forget those adorable poses where they are all sleepy and curled up.  I bet you didn't know that after a few weeks old your baby baby isn’t so sleepy and posable anymore! That's the magic sauce to getting all of those sleepy curly poses that everyone loves, photograph the baby before two weeks old! Now of course, every baby is different, but after photographing hundreds of newborns, I can tell you that the majority of the time it makes all the difference in the world! The other plus to photographing the baby before 2 weeks in addition to achieving those perfect little poses, is that the baby is more relaxed and not even aware of what is going on around him!

All of my newborn sessions are photographed in my beautiful professional studio. I only photograph in my studio for several reasons. First it allows me to control everything I need to make the session a success! I have all of my lighting, props, lenses, equipment and anything else I need right at my finger tips. My mommies love it because all they have to do i spring the baby, and I take care of the rest! I love being able to allow my clients to come to my peaceful studio, sit back and relax for a couple of hours, sometimes they even fall asleep too!

To book your newborn session I recommend booking while you are still pregnant. Most clients book between 15-26 weeks along. I only book a certain amount of newborns each month which allows me to accommodate you whether your baby arrives early, on time or a little later than expected.
